Logline

A young woman (Sally) falls in love with a ghost (Paulina) and must delve into the dangerous world of the occult in order to free her lover from eternal captivity.

Short synopsis

Static is a supernatural lesbian romance film set in a 1970’s boarding house. Our protagonist is Sally, a gay, jaded young woman whose fascination with the occult has paved the way for a romantic relationship with Paulina, the ghost who haunts her bedroom. When Sally is evicted from the ‘respectable’ boarding house by the judgmental landlord, she is distraught to learn that Paulina is unable to leave the room she died in. Sally must fight to find a spell that can free Paulina and grant her a physical form. She soon learns that the right to be with the woman she loves comes at a heavy price: to complete the resurrection, Sally will have to undergo a gruesome and dangerous ritual. Static is a film about a woman’s determination to fight for the woman she loves in a world that refuses to accept her.
